Stamp duty concessions and first home owner grants are set by each state and territory, so what you can get depends on where you are buying. In Victoria, eligible first home buyers can receive a full land transfer duty exemption on homes valued up to $600,000, with a reduced amount of duty between $600,001 and $750,000, and eligible buyers purchasing a new home valued up to $750,000 may also qualify for the $10,000 First Home Owner Grant.
The Australian Government 5% Deposit Scheme may allow eligible buyers to purchase with a minimum 5% deposit without Lenders Mortgage Insurance, subject to the scheme's requirements and property price caps. Eligibility for each is set by government and is separate from lender approval.
